Introductions

Hello, my name is Linus.

I'm a white and orange short hair domestic cat. Some of you may be wondering how a cat could actually write a blog, let alone use a keyboard. That's where I am kind of special. You see, I have thumbs. I'm a polydactyl cat, I have an extra toe on my front paws that allows me to do things that others can't. But my uniqueness extends beyond the thumbs, not many people know it, but polydactyl cats are actually different in many other ways that humans don't know about.

We have an ability to understand human language, though we choose to pretend we can't, and we have a cognitive ability to think and reason far beyond our feline brothers. We are the great thinkers, historians and philosophers of the cat world. None of this has ever been shared before, I felt it was time to shed some light on the subject, maybe to protect my brothers from the disrespect that so many cats suffer in this cruel dog-dominted world.

The other reason I am writing is that I have this need to make sense of the world around me. My humans spend hours at the computer typing in things, moving the mouse and using the printer. I noticed that one of them, the big furry faced guy who always cleans my litterbox was adding things to his weblog. When the humans left for the day, I managed to open the door to the computer room and set about learning how it works.

I'm very excited to have my own blog, lets hope the humans don't find out. Keep this our little secret for now.

Linus
